Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. Must have some experience of Groundworks, Civils and RC Frame projects. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accurately assessed and accounted for. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements to ensure accurate pricing and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing updates and recommendations as needed to maintain budgetary constraints.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost control and present findings to management.
  • Maintain organised records of estimates, revisions, and supporting documentation for future reference.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and labour costs to ensure competitive pricing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in cost control methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and materials is advantageous but not essential.

Required

2-3 years of experience in estimating in the civils construction industry

·Exposure to Bills of Quantities and handling enquiries

·Completed or currently studying for a degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field

·Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skill

·A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
